Disney's newest live action remake, Lilo & Stitch is cute, fluffy, heartfelt, and just what we need at the movies. As with any Disney movie there are plenty of Disney easter eggs and callbacks to find. From Stitch's cousins to fun cameos, here are all the Lilo and Stitch Easter Eggs you may have missed.
Lilo and Stitch Easter Eggs
The opening sequence is almost a shot-for-shot remake of the original film. Complete with Stitch saying “Meega, nala kweesta!” causing the aliens around him to pass out or throw up.
Pleakley is not only an expert on Earth as a planet but he is also very into human fashion.
He breaks out of custody using his spit and gets away in the red ship.
Lilo is feeding Pudge the fish a sandwich.
Scrump is inside Lilo's backpack.
“Leave me alone to die,” Lilo is laying on the floor listening to Elvis.
Tia Carrere, the original voice actress for Nani, is playing the girls' social worker.
Likewise, Amy Hill, who originally voiced Mrs. Hasagawa in the original film, is playing Tutu, David's grandmother.
Speaking of David, Jason Scott Lee, the original voice of David, makes a brief cameo as Nani's boss at the Luau.
During the social worker visit, you can see Lilo's drawing “me alone.”
David is wearing Maui's fish hook as a necklace.
Lilo's room features a photo wall. She makes a wish on a shooting star, which is actually Stitch's spaceship, for a friend.
Stitch causes chaos as soon as he lands. The frog watches him.
They show a man with a snow cone that falls into the sand. “Ice cream guy” is also shown again later on.
The power wheels car Stitch steals from the girls in town says 2 Fast on the license plate.
Instead of building a fake town in Lilo's room, Stitch pretends to be Godzilla out on the beach and destroys a sandcastle city.
Stitch sees a dog surfing and wants to go surfing. Hawaiian Roller Coaster plays.
Lilo shows Nani that Stitch can play records.
Jumba shows some of his designs for other experiments including: Angel, Leroy, Reuben, and Sparky.
Tutu, puts on the visor that Mrs. Hasagawa wore in the animated version.
During the credits, they show the house being rebuilt as well as pictures and animation of Stitch doing different things or wearing different outfits including Elvis Stitch and Superhero Stitch (or as my kid calls him, bra Stitch).
Lilo & Stitch is in theaters May 23. It is rated PG for action, peril, and thematic elements with a runtime of 1 hour 48 minutes.
