Now that winter is finally leaving us, you know what that means. Spring! And also Easter! Don’t panic, you still have some time before you need to dye eggs and fill baskets which is why I’m here with a list of things to help you in your prep work. If you’re like me, it’s not just kids that get in on the fun but the adults get goodies too. So here are some awesome, non-candy Easter basket ideas for the family!

For the Collector

Perfectly sized for Easter baskets are the Pocket Pop! 3 Packs. How cute are these Jurassic World Easter Dinos. Or if you want an adorable nostalgia pick, I cannot stress enough that you need to find these Mystery Bitty POP! Care Bears! And because you can never have too many collectibles on your shelves– regular sized Funko Pops are always a great option too. POP Yourself is available on the Funko Website.

I also love this Care Bears Share Bear Bunny!

For the Gamers

Kirby Air Riders

Equal parts racing, fighting, and mini games, Kirby Air Riders is a bizarre (compliment), engaging game. It takes the single-button GameCube racer and updates it with sleek graphics, customization, and chaotic Kirby fun. Imagine if Smash Bros met Kirby and you would have an idea of what you’re getting into with Air Riders. There are various game modes, an insane amount of unlockables alongside vehicle customizations that will have you wanting to show off your garage to all your friends. It’s still fairly simplistic in terms of gameplay and while that makes it easy to pick up it also results in a slight letdown, as it gets in its own way with those limitations. However, if you enjoyed the original and are a Kirby fan in general, this game has a lot to offer whether you’re playing solo or online with friends.

Kirby Air Riders Game Review

Kirby Air Riders is a game with multiple modes that does not resemble any other kart game out there. These pieces shouldn’t work together as well as they do but that’s part of the fun of Kirby, physic-defying action that results in a lot of fun. There are three main modes, with plenty of options to choose from there. City Ride, Top Ride, Road Trip, and Air Ride. My favorite was Road Trip, but I will get more into that in a second. What threw me off the most was I wanted to play this like Mario Kart (a game I’m exceptionally good at if I can brag for a minute). This is NOT Mario Kart, not even a little bit. But years of playing have conditioned me to play kart racers a specific way. So it was a bit of a learning curve for me to adjust, despite it being fairly simple in terms of controls.

Animal Crossing: New Horizons Nintendo Switch 2 Edition

Animal Crossing: New Horizons is a fan favorite for a reason. It is easy to play, charming, and mostly stress-free. Hey sometimes those fish are tricky! The popular game is now available on the Nintendo Switch 2 with some exciting new updates. From 4K visuals and improved loading times to the new “Megaphone” feature and increased online play, this is the update fans of the game have been waiting for. Megaphone allows players to locate villagers and their friends using the chat function. Yes that is as fun as it sounds!

It’s a great introduction for new players and a sweet welcome back to longtime fans. Animal Crossing remains a peaceful world where everyone is nice and wants to be your friend. It’s as if Mr. Rogers created this video game for all of us to learn how to be better neighbors. It’s an ideal game for all ages and one the whole family can enjoy together. From this fan’s point of view, Animal Crossing: New Horizons- Switch 2 Edition is a must have for the collection.
