Mamavation Monday Just Say No To GMOs

July 30, 2012 By Ashley 4 Comments

This past week has been an interesting one to say the least! Tuesday of last week we went to the pool and swam for 3 hours. It was great exercise and of course made everyone good and sleepy for naptime. Yay! But then I started feeling really terrible. I came down with a nasty cold and irony would have it my article on another site went live Wednesday: Natural Remedies For Childhood Illnesses. I had a nice case of practicing what I preach! But I did use my own remedies and happily this cold was kicked in the rear in a few days.

Two non-scale victories: I met my water goal AND I got my hair cut and highlighted! My goal for this week is to keep the momentum going and keep drinking water regularly.

This week we are focusing on discussing GMOs. GMOs are genetically modified organisms and these nasty things have made their way into our food supply without so much as a passing comment by the food industry. I don't know about you, but I like my food the way God intended it to be. That is why I shop organic not only for the dirty dozen but also for these GMOs.

Top 10 GMOs to Avoid:

1. Corn

2. Soy

3. Sugar

4. Aspartame

5. Papayas

6. Canola

7. Cotton

8. Dairy (not to mention all the antibiotics in this one)

9. Zucchini

10. Yellow squash

Coming soon: a dedicated post about GMOs and what we can all do to get them labeled!

*This post is sponsored by Unreal Candy and hosted by Mamavation – a community dedicated to obesity prevention & weight loss for women and I’m writing this to be entered into a giveaway.
