VisionQuest Episode 7 Easter Eggs, Breakdown, & Recap
It’s 1939. We see Dr Phineas Horton (played by Paul Bettany), selling his estate to create a machine. But it’s not just a machine it will be a miraculous invention. He’s speaking of JIM of course. This also explains why Vision looks the way he does in human form.
Dr. Horton’s son James died 3 years ago. Since then he has been obsessed with creating JIM. However, he’s neglecting his daughter Victoria. She takes her father’s notebook which contains codes when she leaves the house.
Present Day- they are trying to cure Lisa of the nano bot. But they are worried she could lose her memory or die. Tommy begins to understand why Wanda did what she did after losing Vision.
FRIDAY calls the house and reveals that Jo is more human than synth with gaps in her memory.
Jo unlocks the cradle holding the Nanos but there is a final key she is missing, a passcode.
There is a knock at the door. The mysterious 6th partner… the client. Ultron calls him desperate and dramatic. Both Vision and Jo receive packages from the client. Ultron has known FRIDAY was there the whole time.
Vision signs the contract and dives into his own subconscious. The Great and Powerful Oz has written the answers directly into his core.
Jo is taken to her old apartment- 607 Bushwick Ave. 12C Brooklyn, New York. It looks like Ultron’s attic in Vision’s mind.
EDITH says they need to be able to access a power source and only Paladin has those kinds of illegal connections. He happens to have Corvus Glaive’s weapon that stabbed Vision in Infinity War.
Vision descends into this code, mirroring the time Wanda blasted him through the floor of Avengers Compound in Captain America Civil War.
Vision finds Ultron in his code. He tells him he stays here rent free. Ultron is watching WandaVision. He says again that Vision should show Tommy the show. He’s watching the episode when Agatha kills Sparky.
“Family is forever.”
At Jo’s, they watch as she accepts her Stark Award. But she had a partner. Who was it?
Vision follows young Tommy and Billy who run past him in the hallway and finds the original Vision. “The only one strong enough to imprison me is me.” White Vision blasts him, absorbing his fragments. The picture of JIM is in the background.
Lisa wakes up and tries to attack them. Paladin has her at gunpoint.
Vision finds the man on fire – JIM. He looks like a robotic version of Vision. “You wear my face.” He speaks with Horton and JIM. He was disappointed JIM wanted to be real. He fell in love and felt too much. They both burned together that day,
Vision doesn’t want to accept Tommy as his son because that would mean the admission of an impossibly cruel truth, a wound that could never be healed.
His blue aura turns golden like Vision. He sees himself as the real Vision now in the mirror. The Client tells him again to surrender to Paladin so they can meet.
Vision leaves a message for Tommy including recordings of WandaVision.
This is a man who predates Stark and Banner… Vision knows the house.
Ultron kills FRIDAY and Ultron, the client, kills Paladin. He was there with Jo before he was turned into a homicidal robot. “Peace in our time…”
