Level Up Game Night

October 24, 2017 By Ashley 26 Comments

When you have a family of gamers, you are always on the lookout for the latest and greatest games. We have a Playstation 4, Wii U, Nintendo Switch, and a Nintendo 3DS XL. Yes, we take this gaming thing seriously! Here are some of the newest games we have played and how we think they will level up game night at your house!

Level Up Game Night

I received these titles for the purpose of this review. Affiliate links are below. All opinions are my own.
Telltale’s Minecraft Story Mode: Season Two

Level Up Game Night

Platforms: PC, PS4, and Xbox One
Story: Jesse embarks on a brand new journey filled with tough choices, good times, and at least one temperamental llama. Minecraft: Story Mode – Season 2 is a five-part episodic series.
What we thought: If you like Minecraft this is the game for you. Like season 1  you will take Jesse through the episodes and make this Minecraft story your own. The kids really loved the llama!

RiME

Level Up Game Night

Platforms: PC, PS4, Nintendo Switch, and Xbox One
Story: RiME is a single-player puzzle adventure game about a young boy shipwrecked on a mysterious island after a torrential storm.
My thoughts: I was the guinea pig for this game. It looked interesting, and I love a good puzzle. After noticing the kinda ethereal vibe I had to be nosey and see if my suspicions were correct. I don't want to spoil it for you, google can do that, but my thinking was correct and this game includes a twist in the story I wasn't expecting.

NASCAR Heat 2

Level Up Game Night

Platforms: PS4, Xbox One, and PC
Story: Get ready to race in NASCAR Heat 2. Stand-alone tracks include Eldora Speedway, and drivers and tracks from both the Xfinity Series and the Camping World Truck Series are included as you hurtle along at top speed. A 40-player multiplayer option lets you race against numerous opponents in NASCAR Heat 2.

Level Up Game Night

What we thought: The whole family got in on this game. We may even have had some trash talking going on! Single-Player or multi, everyone can put their driving skills where there mouths are in Nascar Heat 2. My son who is obsessed with all things cars, begs to play this one everyday. If you love racing games, this is a must for you. I also like that you have the ability to customize your car, hello hot pink!

Level Up Game Night

NBA Playgrounds

Level Up Game Night

Platforms: PS4, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch, and PC
Story: Classic NBA arcade action is back! Take your “A” game to the playground and beat the best in high-flying 2-on-2 basketball action. Practice your skills offline, play with up to three others on your, or take your talents online to posterize your opponents with acrobatic jams and ridiculous displays of skill.
What we thought: If you are looking for less complicated NBA game, NBA Playgrounds is for you. Unlock new playgrounds as you beat tournaments and gain new players you can use in each game. The trash talking from the in-game announcers makes me laugh. It definitely reminds me of watching playground games back in school!

Jackbox Games Party Pack

Level Up Game Night

Platforms: PS4, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch, and PC
This party pack includes:
Quiplash 2 (3-8 players)
The say-anything sequel. Play all new questions or make your own!
Trivia Murder Party (1-8 players)
A deadly quiz show where you match wits with a trivia-obsessed killer.
Guesspionage (2-8 players)
The brain-battering data-mining guessing game.
Tee K.O. (3-8 players)
The t-shirt slugfest where you battle your custom t-shirts to the death!
Fakin’ It (3-6 players)
One of your friends has something to hide in this sneaky game for tricksters.
What we thought: This game is rated T for Teen. There are family friendly settings for most of the games, but I would recommend this one for teens and up. Or, at least give each game a go before letting the younger ones play. I really like that you can play using your phones, tablets, or computers. Which means, no extra controllers needed! We have extra controllers, but not 7 of them!
Get these games today!
