Moana Birthday Party Ideas
This wasn’t my first go at a tropical themed party. A few years ago we had a Mickey Mouse Clubhouse Luau for my son. It was super fun and a lot of those decorations came in handy for this party.
Moana Party Goodie Bags
The goody cups were filled with hibiscus hair clips, tropical tattoos, organic snacks, and nail polish. Everything you need to get started on your own sea journey right? Luckily our Hei-Hei didn’t try to eat anything.
For the tablescape, I kept it simple with decorative flowers, sea shells, and the Moana plates.
Moana Party Food
I adore this hula table skirt. It gives just the right pop to any table you adorn with it.
My daughter requested a salad and fruit. Got to love a kid who wants a healthy party! I also made ham and cheese sandwiches, Maui’s Hook pretzels, and of course dessert. It can’t all be healthy right?
I sprinkled more flowers and sea shells on the island. The flower vase centerpiece is the same I used for the Mickey party minus Mickey.
Yes I made the pretzels from scratch and no it was not fun. I do not own a bread maker and this was my first foray into making bread dough. So much work. But they tasted delicious. Recipe possibly coming soon if I can psych myself up to make them again.

Avengers Birthday Party
Grab your masks and your capes!
To welcome everyone into our top secret headquarters, I used one of the Jumbo Superhero Word Cutouts. These HUGE words were the best to make different areas of the party really pop!
Want to really set the scene? Oriental Trading has a variety of scene setters for various themes. These are ginormous and perfect to make a statement. My son and his friends loved the Marvel Avengers Scene Setter, featuring their favorite heroes!
Ever since my daughter’s Alice in Wonderland Tea Party, I have always had a photo booth at the parties. They make for some great memories for us and to give to the kids at the end.
Party Tip #1: Use a plain white sheet, brought to life with decorations and props. Easiest and cheapest party favor/thank you ever!
I ended up ordering 2 packs of these Avengers Photo Stick Props to use not only for pictures but also as vase decorations.
Party Tip #2: If your children have toys related to the theme, use them! Decorations, photo props, games, whatever your imagination can come up with!
Inside the goody bags were Avengers snacks, crayons, pencils, stickers, and PEZ Avengers 2 Assortment. The kids loved them!
When you have a house full of 7 and 8 year olds you need to keep them entertained. Otherwise your living room might end up looking like New York City after the Avengers took on Loki.
Plan one: game time. Pin the Star on Captain America’s Shield. These kids were too good though, so we had several rounds to finally declare a winner!
Plan two: get crafty. Crafts are something I try to do at each party too. Kids love being able to make something to take home. Perfect craft find: Color Your Own Superhero Masks! Goes with the theme and they can use them in the photo booth! Yeah!
Marvel Avengers Favor Containers helped to keep the craft table organized. At least until the kids got there. But hey, now they are in my son’s room holding all matters of important things.
What do superheroes eat? Hulk Hot Dogs, Patriotic Chips, Hawkeye’s Veggie Arrows, and Captain America Shield Fruit!
Find the cream cheese fruit dip recipe here
I used the Avengers Assemble Tablecloth in the kitchen and the Marvel Avengers Tablecloth for the dining room.
It wouldn’t be a party without dessert!! This might be my favorite part, just a little…
Here we have Captain America Shield Cupcakes, Nicky Fury Eyepatches, and Thor Lightening Bolts.
The dessert containers and vases are the Cityscape Candy Buckets.
Party Tip #3: Oriental Trading is one of the best places to shop for parties, especially if you are trying to rock out on a budget. Between Oriental Trading and stocking up on superhero goodies when I spotted them on clearance, this whole party was under $100!
This might be one of my top favorite parties yet. I loved the theme, all the decorations, and how much fun everyone had. It was a great day celebrating my not-so-little anymore (excuse me while I cry) boy!
Who is your favorite Avenger?
Thank you to Oriental Trading for helping us have an amazing party. All opinions are my own.
I served the food and setup a photo booth area inside. Outside parties are great but they can be HOT. For the table top I used some of the traffic cones I picked out for the games and little man’s die cast vehicles. He had plenty to choose from!
This is the Disney Cars Dream Table Cover. I liked the checkered flag background and flag styled sides.
Ever since I started making Photo Booths a thing at our parties, everyone comes expecting to say cheese. Thanks to this Disney Cars Grand Prix Dream Backdrop Kit it made putting together a photo area easy! The backdrop was huge and came in 3 parts. It also came with cardboard punchiest for props. Super cute and it saved me time, perfect combo! Oh and the kids loved it too, which is also a good thing right?
Let’s head outside for some Cars and Planes games. The rest of the Orange Traffic Cones were used to set up an Obstacle Course/Race Track for the kids to run through.
Also a part of the obstacle course, race track was the Clear I See You Tunnel for the starting point. This tunnel was a hit! The kids ran through it, jumped over it, and at one point attempted to roll each other around in it. It folds up easily for transport and storage. We have been using it since when we go to the park or even inside the house as part of our forts. And being clear, no one can hide anything or anyone in there!
It couldn’t be a vehicle themed party without a little red light green light action. Instead of the typical run around game, I turned it into a Stop Light Toss. Using these Reinforced Bean Bags, the kids had to try toss their bean bags through the different lights (levels on the stand).
Each kid received a Bubble Wand. I feel like every party needs bubbles! The Small Bubble Bottle Wand Assortment was a big hit, because who doesn’t love bubbles?
Oriental Trading is my one stop shop for birthdays, parties, really any type of event. They have something for every occasion, season, and holiday!
What is one of your favorite outdoor game or activity?
Thank you to Oriental Trading for sending over these awesome products for our party. Being an Oriental Trading blogger is a lot of fun. All opinions are my own!
Oriental Trading makes it easy to throw any party with almost any theme. Not only do they carry Tinkerbell specific party items but also the perfect touches that brought Pixie Hollow and all things fairy to life. The Princess and her fairy friends had a lot of fun and we all enjoyed dreaming of Spring.
Come out of the snow and into the warmth of Pixie Hollow.
The color scheme for this party was purple and green. Flowers and bright colors everywhere. Tinkerbell greets the guests and shows off her cottage surrounded by Lime Green Paper Fans. I used these throughout the party for pops of color. They come in 3 different sizes and are lightweight making them easy to hang anywhere.
The Colorful Flower Garland made it easy to drape the rooms in bright, exotic flowers transporting us all into the depths of the beautiful Pixie Hollow where Rosetta has been busy!
I always try to make the goodies table pop. For this party, I bought oversized whimsical flowers and created bouquets. Then added more flowers, Silvermist and Periwinkle, and Pixie Dust.
All fairies need Pixie Dust. Terrance the keeper of the Dust brought me some to give to the girls in Mini Bottle Charms. So cute and perfectly sized for just the right amount of Pixie Dust.
Mini Star Wands and Spring Brights Bubbles helped to bring fairy magic to the goodie cups.
Do you believe in Fairies? I do and I believe you have to paint wooden signs with glitter paint several times for the desired effect.
Tinkerbell Swirl Foil Decorations were used over the tabletops and in the kitchen. As if Tink’s friends were flying above the party ensuring everyone is having a great time.
Instead of doing a game, my little Fairy wanted a craft. She picked out foam picture frames with fairy stickers for each girl to decorate and use for their photobooth pic.
Every photobooth needs props. I collected a variety of Wings, Wands, and Flowers for each fairy to use.
For the Photobooth itself, I used a purple backdrop and outlined it with flower vines. These are easy and pretty cheap too when it is Springtime at the craft stores.
One of the best ways to party on a budget is to use what you have.
We are never in short supply of toys so I asked my daughter to borrow her prized fairies to decorate the table with. She agreed as long as I promised her brother would not touch them. Zarina, Tinkerbell, and Periwinkle sit on the Tinkerbell Tablecloth, surrounded by more fairy wands and some pixie dust.
Now for the food. Arguably the best part, right?
Gruff, the Neverbeast, was very helpful keep watch over the food until it was time to eat. Thank you Gruff!
Vidia doesn’t look too excited but I think the Tink Sweet Treat Cups, Tinkerbell Dinner and Dessert Plates, Purple Chevron Paper Straws, and the Green Chevron Paper Straws are pixie perfect.
Thanks to the lovely sunshine that we have certainly missed it might be hard to see how cute all these party items are. The links will take you to non-sunshine pics!
We ended the party with Tinkerbell and the Legend of the Neverbeast, the all new full-length movie featuring all our favorite fairies!
The perks of being an Oriental Trading Blogger allowed me to get a lot of Fairy inspired products for this party. No other compensation was given and of course opinions as always are my own!
