Mamavation Monday Back To Life

August 19, 2012 By Ashley 9 Comments

I titled this back to life because as summer comes to a close life has to go back to some semblance of order. No more sleeping in until whenever or lounging in PJs all day! Back to school night is this Thursday and school starts next Monday yikes!! Seriously, where did summer go? Don't get me wrong , I LOVE fall. I love the clothes, accessories, and cooler temps, but I do love that summertime means laid back, whatever time.

Not only will we be thrust back into the grind of school but I will be back to the gym. After months off, and ugh I can definitely tell, I know I will be super sore, tired, and probably not make it through one class! Maybe not quite that bad, but my Zumba instructor is hardcore. I have used plenty of excuses not to exercise at home and also to eat not so great. My emotions got the better of me which in turn caused me to eat more chocolate and seek out other comfort food none of which is super healthy, minus the frozen yogurt. Funny how we feel good while we are eating poorly but afterwards it is like oh man why did I even do that?! I am paying the price for my slacking but I am ready to get back on track. My discipline will be back to where it was before, if not better! I have asked my husband to help hold me accountable, especially in the water intake area.

The first few weeks of school will be the hardest emotionally. My daughter will start first grade and my boy will start preschool. I will be alone for the first time since before I had my daughter. I seriously won't know what to do with myself. I am trying to convince myself now that mindless munching is not the answer! My other plan is to not have anything I could munch on in the house unless it is fruit or veggies. If there is even one cracker or pirate booty box in the house fah-get-about-it! Have a great week everyone!

Good luck to all the finalists!! You all are an inspiration to so many!

Aw, the kids are both going to school! How adorable!

Enjoy your time alone during the day. Love your plan about the fruits and veggies to snack on. Good idea!

Wow you will be home alone for the day! Workout! I still have my 10 month old so he will be coming along for the ride 🙂

I hope it’s a smooth transition for you!

Been there … Two of my three are in school & next fall they all will be in school 🙁 but I have found that working out is a lot easier during that “free” time because I know they are busy, having fun and I can focus on me for a moment.

Summer is actually the time of the year that the most people GAIN weight; seems kinda funny doesn’t it, since everyone is wearing LESS clothes? LOL.
Fall is always a fresh start (especially with back-to-school), and I know you can get back on the horse and do it again. I have tried to clear my pantry of *most* unhealthy items I have a tendency to snack on, and stock the frig with healthy options.
Early Empty Nest syndrome; I’m soo sorry =/ My son starts preschool this year too, and knowing my baby is already growing up so fast can be hard! But it gives you more time for YOU and when they get home you can focus more on them. So it can be a win/win.
Hope you have a great week!

My oldest is starting kindergarten and I’m not sure what to expect without him for 2.5 hours. I can’t imagine a time without both boys but I know it is coming! I’m sure you will do wonderful things in that freetime!

I actually can’t wait for school to start and to have some alone time during the day. It will be a great time to workout and spend some time focusing on my own goals.

Being alone…that sounds lovely. Just kidding. I love my kids. The one thing that resonated with me from this post was the idea that when we eat junk, we feel good until…. And that’s so true. I LOVE eating the cookies while I’m eating them, but I so regret it later!
