Learning is Fun with the LeapFrog Word Whammer!

September 21, 2015 By Ashley 15 Comments

To get children excited to learn can be a daunting task for teachers and parents. For me as a teacher it was always rewarding when I saw my students enjoying the learning process. I of course tried to be a fun teacher but even I couldn't make some subjects fun. That is probably one of the first reasons I fell in love with the LeapFrog brand. I saw how it made learning an adventure for the kids, they didn't even realize it was teaching them something! When I became a mother, I knew LeapFrog was going to be a must have in the house. It started with the magnetic farm letters and has grown! And now, I am thrilled to be a part of the new LeapFrog Mom Squad!

My family agrees, learning is fun with the LeapFrog Word Whammer! Kiddos will have a blast spinning, pushing, and twisting handles to identify letters and build words! This toy features 3 games and 5 learning levels that adapt as your children play with it. Push the handle to blast a rocket into letters to spell more than 100 words. Take a spin on the tea cups, listening for a letter sound, then twist the handle fast to spin the teacup into the letter that makes that sound. Hop in the bumper cars to match the upper and lowercase letters. Then enjoy a parade with your LeapFrog pets!

When my little man comes home from school he knows first he needs to do his reading homework then he is free to play. Ever since we opened up the Word Whammer it is all he wants to do after school. It is the first toy he goes for, and he plays with it until mean old Mommy tells him it's time for a break!

At school he is learning to read, memorizing sight words, and sounding out basic vocabulary words. The Word Whammer helps to reinforce his letter recognition, sounds, and expand his reading vocabulary. He loves getting his tickets at the end of the game to use in the claw machine. At the claw machine you pick out a prize for one of your LeapFrog Word Whammer pets. Then all the animals march in the parade. It is super cute!

Although this is a toy designed for younger kids, even your older ones will enjoy it. My daughter who can read chapter books, enjoys playing on the Word Whammer she loves the pets! I like it too, it is just a lot fun. But don't take my word for it. Watch my little guy play!

As a LeapFrog Mom Ambassador, I receive products, promotional items, and educational material to use and share as I see fit. However, any opinions expressed by me are honest and reflect my actual experience.
