Peter is late for school. Thinks he might make the train but misses it. Opens up his backpack, but no Spider-Man suit, just his lunch.
Aunt May finds him and gives him a ride. There is an Iron Man air freshener hanging from the rearview mirror.
Licence Plate: RQT-8372.
It's Peter's first day at Midtown High.
Before classes start, a portal opens and Dr. Strange appears fighting a “Symbiotic Alien” like Venom.
Peter calls him “some kind of magical wizard guy.”
Dr. Strange uses the Impenetrable Shield of Seraphim to stop Venom.
A special looking spider is shown coming through the portal.
Peter attacks the Venom creature in order to save a girl. The school is damaged but Dr. Strange saves the day. The spider gets left behind when the portal is closed.
The girl Peter saved is Nico Minoru.
In the comics, Nico's powers include blood magic, flight, telekinesis, teleportation, shielding, and summoning. She even worked at Dr. Strange' school: Strange Academy.
While they are talking, Peter is bit by the spider and passes out.
“Neighbor Like Me” is the theme song which begins with the original Spider-Man lyrics and music. The Marvel Comics Group logo shows different Spider-Man outfits as it plays.
A few months later: Peter is dealing with his new powers. This time when he misses the train he goes to Plan B and pulls out his homemade Spider-Man suit.
But before he can make it to school, he hears someone yelling for help. He saves Harry Osborn (Zeno Robinson) from getting hit by a truck and getting mugged. Harry is the son of Norman Osborn aka The Green Goblin.
At school Peter sees Pearl, his childhood crush.
Peter leaves class to go stop a car chase and help the police before coming back and learning that Pearl's boyfriend Lonnie Lincoln, the star quarterback, wants to be his lab partner.
In the comics, Lonnie aka Tombstone is a leader of a street gang. After getting exposed to Diox-3, a chemical developed by Alchemax, Tombstone gained super-strength, bulletproof skin, superhuman speed and stamina. He also excels at hand-to-hand combat.
Heading home, Peter finds a free DVD player. “Left Hand Free” by Alt-J is heard playing. Everything seems like it will follow the scene from Captain America Civil War but instead of Tony Stark waiting at his house it is Norman Osborn.
