X-Men 97 Season 2 Episode 7 Easter Eggs & Breakdown
Flashback: Colossus watches as his sister, Magik, dies fighting against the Sentinels.
In the Present Day, Graydon Creed is running for President. He is captured by Colossus and his team, the Acolytes of Magneto.
The leader of the Acolytes is Exodus aka Bennet du Paris. Exodus is an Omega Level Mutant. His powers include telekinesis and telepathy.
Mutants loyal to Magneto’s teachings joined the Acolytes. There have been several versions of the group in the comics.
Exodus demands that all mutants detained by X-Factor be released to Acolyte custody. They also tell the world to stay out their way or Creed dies. Nightcrawler wants to save his half brother.
Xavier tells Dr. Cooper the X-Men will handle the Acolytes. They land in the Savage Land, home of pre-historic wildlife, ancient evil spirits, and Mr. Sinister’s leftover experiments.
Their powers are negated by the inhibitor tower.
Colossus finds them and Rogue tells him they are there to keep the Acolytes from starting WWIII. Nightcrawler speaks to Creed and makes wager with Exodus. If Creed can be redeemed he needs to be freed. Colossus will be the judge during the trial.
Bishop and Polaris take out the tower enabling them to use their powers again and fight the Acolytes.
Nightcrawler brings up Creed’s parents and how he must have felt abandoned by Mystique and Sabretooth. “You don’t hate mutants, you hate the ones that left you.”
Exodus attacks Colossus. Creed shoots Exodus and grabs Nightcrawler, putting the gun to his head. Nightcrawler teleports them somewhere else, debating on whether or not to kill Creed or save him. Nightcrawler tells him “You may not be a mutant, but you are very much your parents’ son.” He leaves Creed in the snow.
X-Factor finds Creed. Dr. Cooper threatens Xavier telling him that she will take away his corporation and his school if he crosses any lines.
Cable and X-Force reach the Parthenon. They find a skeleton of Apocalypse and a burned up playing card.
X-Men 97 Season 2 episodes 1-7 are now streaming on Disney+.
