Mamavation Monday Hello Sandy

October 29, 2012 By Ashley 4 Comments

Hurricane Sandy has come into town and true to DC Metro fashion everyone started to panic. Me, I didn't panic, afterall I drove through a worse storm on my way to Bloggy Con! I am praying for anyone on the coast where it is worse, but in my county we are not near the coast so I just don't understand the freak out. But like I told my husband, just because I think people are overreacting does not mean I won't enjoy the days off from school. Oh and the sleeping in, I mean it is heavenly not to have to get up until I feel like it.

Last week was a bummer in the workout department. My friend and I went to the gym Monday night but unfortunately our favorite instructor was not there. To make matters worse they had a substitute that I cannot stand. I ended up walking out, because he is seriously a waste of gym floor space. We tried to workout on the machines, but I have come to realize that I only get a good workout in when I am doing something I enjoy.

Today marked the start of the 2 Week Challenge with Mamavation and Bob Harper. I was nervous about this challenge only because Bob Harper is well, Bob Harper. And believe me the workout did not disappoint, I had to do several exercises that I would never do on my own. So although hitting the gym tonight probably won't happen, I definitely worked out my lower body. My legs are wondering why I would do this, but it's time for me to kick this fitness thing back into high gear! Good luck to all the ladies taking part in this challenge with me. We can do it girls!

If you are in the path of Sandy, what are your plans for keeping yourself and the kids from getting cabin fever?

I think that is one reason I don’t have a gym membership… I don’t want to have to deal with people that I don’t like ๐Ÿ™‚ Best of luck in the two week challenge. I am going to do my best to stay along with ya!

I agree with you about the overreacting a bit – being in Florida – it’s become almost old hat for me ๐Ÿ˜€

I agree, when you go to the gym & you have an instructor who isn’t what you were hoping for it makes it for a waste of time. Good luck in your challenge!

I’m excited for the Bob Harper challenge as well – and you’re so right, he didn’t disappoint today! ๐Ÿ˜‰
