Mamavation Monday: Halfway There

March 18, 2013 By Ashley 13 Comments

Mamavation Monday

Halfway there. I'm halfway through my 10week training for the Color Me Rad 5K and I'm halfway through the 2 Week Challenge.

No it has not been easy and I have been spending some extra quality time with my heating pad! I was worried that my week off would put me back to square one with the running. But thanks to the encouragement of my fellow Mamavation Sisters I went for it and continued where I left off. I did ok the first day and I was definitely back in stride by the second. I still don't like running but I can't argue with the results! 😉 To everyone else training for events and doing this 2 week challenge, keep it up girls!

Scale Victory– I didn't gain back any of the weight I loss while I sick! I was concerned that after I started eating again after being so sick that I would gain those 5lbs back. Thankfully I didn't! Now I need to get back into drinking water before every meal. I have been so hungry I would get about halfway through my meal before I was like oh um yeah about that water….*cough*

This week on Mamavation TV our guest is Rachel Lacy the Bento Box queen. I love bento box lunches! Coming up with new and fun ideas/themes is fun for me (you know you're a mom when…).My kids go to a peanut free school which can make lunch challenging. We are a peanut butter loving household! Pinterest is a great resource and chances are if you have searched for Bento lunches then Rachel's ideas have popped up. Check out her site Following in my Shoes for inspiration.

My favorite go to lunchbox idea: raw veggies with hummus, an apple, whole wheat mini pitas, and laughing cow cheese. What is your favorite healthy kid lunch?

Congrats on making it half way through your training. Just keep going and you will do fabulous. I did the color in motion run and it was a blast so I am sure the Color Me Rad will be just as fun. Great job!!

I really like sandwiches. Isn’t that a weird thing to say? I love honey mustard and roast beef. 🙂 Good job on the non-gain you had (didn’t have?).

Congratulations on the weight loss, even if it was because you were sick! I totally know what you’re talking about with the feeling happy that you’ve kept it off. During the Mamavation campaign when I had the stomach flu, I was so worried that all the BRAT foods were going to put on what I had taken off already! I also totally agree that training & doing the 2 week challenge is a painful feat of awesomeness. LOL it leaves little time left for dinking around, but that’s a good thing, right??
