If you read that opener and didn't immediately picture Val Kilmer's smirk we can't be friends. One of the movies I quote randomly and at least once a month is Tombstone. This is one of the movies that makes my “perfect movie list” for so many reasons. From the story to the cinematography everything flows together for one amazing retelling of a crucial point in the lives of Wyatt Earp and his best friend Doc Holliday. And I can't talk about this film at all without mentioning that Kilmer's (rest in peace) Holliday set the bar for any portrayal of the man afterwards. Although I do think Tim Rozon did a great job with him in Wynonna Earp. But it isn't just Kilmer that standouts in that film, it's the entire ensemble from Kurt Russell's Wyatt Earp to Michael Biehn's Johnny Ringo. You won't find a better western, in my opinion.
