I remember watching the Muppet Babies when I was little. When they announced the new show, I immediately started singing the theme song. It's just one of those songs that stays with you even after you grow up! Then of course my kids were all “what?” and I had to get on YouTube to educate them in the classics of 90s kids' TV.
I will admit as a fan of the original I didn't know how I was going to feel about the new show. Now, I am all for the new Muppet Babies. I love that they kept the imaginative structure of the original show, the humor, and the running joke that we never see Ms. Nanny's face.
Speaking of Ms. Nanny, I think it is super cute that her tights pattern matches the theme of each episode. It reminds me of Mrs. Frizzle and her outfits on The Magic School Bus.
The kids love seeing their favorite Muppet friends in all new adventures. My son's favorite episode is Animal Fly Airplane. He not only loves Animal (who doesn't?) but he always pretends he is off on adventures, flying or driving to new places, just like Animal. The girl child is all about Super Fabulous vs. Captain Icecube. Piggy is her favorite Muppet and she likes that Piggy learns to be a team and cooperate with Summer, like a true super hero.
