Life is definitely stressful right now and everyone is looking for ways to find some peace amidst the chaos. National Geographic's newest show for Disney+, Earth Moods, has just the calm you are looking for.

Earth Moods Review

Earth Moods takes viewers on the ultimate retreat—transporting them to a vast array of colorful and calming corners of the world. Viewers travel to blue glaciers, arid deserts, lush rainforests and pulsating metropolises to escape from the cacophony of everyday life. The episodes feature an original score produced by Neil Davidge, known for “Massive Attack” as well as collaborations with Snoop Dogg and David Bowie. Each mood gives the audience an opportunity to relax and reset as the sound of music and the natural world washes over them.

Season 1 includes 5 episodes: “Frozen Calm,” “Night Lights,” “Tropical Serenity,” “Desert Solitude,” and “Peaceful Patterns.” While the main focus is on Earth's landscape, there are a few guest stars including two dolphins, schools of fish, and an adorable sea turtle who may or may not be Crush from Finding Nemo. In the frozen, tropical, and desert outings you can expect exactly that, while “Peaceful Patterns” takes viewers all across the globe exploring visually pleasing patterns carved out by nature herself. “Night Lights” on the other hand showcases the unique beauty of cities, ending with a beautiful touchdown of a plane at LAX.

Whether you find solace in the frozen tundras or in the warm waters of the tropics, Earth Moods has something for everyone. I preferred the snow capped mountains and gorgeous glaciers while my husband enjoyed the lights and movement of the cities. No matter the episode or the location, the visuals and the music create an invigorating experience.

Being a National Geographic production the bar is high for the visuals and Earth Moods did not disappoint. Absolutely stunning views, lush colors, even the cityscape popped in the perfect way. You can't help but become entranced with the smoothness of the panning shots over the deserts, beaches, rainforests, etc.

The soothing, ambient music is as pleasing to the ears as the views are to the eyes. Combined, they invite you to relax and unwind, to let the stress of the day melt away. I have found myself leaving Earth Moods on in the background while I work. The tranquil melodies are a welcome addition to my day to day and when I do look up something gorgeous is waiting for me.

If you are a fan of Zenimation, also available on Disney+, Earth Moods will be another hit. If you haven't checked out that show, you should. Both invite audiences to pause, breathe, and let go of stress. With everything going on around us multiple avenues for meditation and peace are a must.

Earth Moods accomplishes its goal of helping viewers relax and reset. Adults and children alike will enjoy the beauty and serenity of the show, so grab the family and get your zen on. All 5 episodes of Season 1 will be available on April 16. I for one will be awaiting Season 2.
