Kinds of Kindness Bonus Features

Kinds of Kindness

Comprised of three stories, Kinds of Kindness begins with “The Death of R.M.F.” Robert Fletcher (Jesse Plemons) is a man trapped in a sub-dom relationship with his boss Raymond (Willem Dafoe). However, when he draws the line at setting up a car accident in order to kill someone, Robert gains his freedom. But is it what he really wanted? Next in “R.M.F. is Flying,” Daniel (Plemons) is cop whose scientist wife Liz (Emma Stone) has gone missing at sea. When she is miraculously rescued months later, he suspects that she is an imposter due to her changed personality and behaviors. In order for her to prove her love he puts her through violent acts of service. Finally there is “R.M.F. Eats a Sandwich.” In this tale, Emily (Stone) is on a mission to find someone with the ability to resurrect the dead. In order to accomplish this goal, Omi (Dafoe), Aka (Hong Chau), and fellow cult member Andrew (Plemons) push her into unthinkable territory.

What does R.M.F. (played by Yorgos Stefanakos) stand for and why is he always present, yet never the same? Your guess is as good as anyones. Reuniting with longtime screenwriting partner Efthimis Filippou (The Lobster and The Killing of a Sacred Deer), Stefanakos has crafted a story that acts as a vivid look at how some suffer from a depraved desire for acceptance. It's disturbingly intriguing that will leave you with many thoughts and emotions, one of which will be trying to decide exactly what you thought about Stefanakos' latest endeavor. Ultimately, Kinds of Kindness is brutal, darkly humorous, and entertaining. It holds a mirror up to our society and demands we take notice of the inherent cruelty that can accompany acts of kindness.
