Are you ready for it? The 2019 Walt Disney Studios picture slate is here and OMG I cannot wait. I feel like each year they make me think this is the best year yet and 2019 is no exception. The Lion King, Captain Marvel, Avengers Endgame, Star Wars Episode 9, ….. deep breaths.

Captain Marvel – March 8, 2019

Captain Marvel follows the story of Carol Danvers as she becomes one of the universe’s most powerful heroes when Earth is caught in the middle of a galactic war between two alien races. Comic book fans are excited that we will see the ancient Kree-Skrull War come to Earth and the MCU! With a possible setup to Secret Invasion?! What?!

Dumbo – March 29, 2019

Circus owner Max Medici (Danny DeVito) enlists former star Holt Farrier (Colin Farrell) and his children Milly (Nico Parker) and Joe (Finley Hobbins) to care for a newborn elephant whose oversized ears make him a laughing stock in an already struggling circus.

But when they discover that Dumbo can fly, the circus makes an incredible comeback, attracting persuasive entrepreneur, aka Shady McShaderson, V.A. Vandevere (Michael Keaton), who recruits Dumbo for his newest, larger-than-life entertainment venture, Dreamland.

 Penguins – April 17, 2019

Disneynature’s all-new feature film “Penguins” is a coming-of-age story about an Adélie penguin named Steve who joins millions of fellow males in the icy Antarctic spring on a quest to build a suitable nest, find a life partner and start a family. None of it comes easily for him, especially considering he's targeted by everything from killer whales to leopard seals, who unapologetically threaten his happily ever after.

Aladdin – May 24, 2019

Aladdin stars Will Smith as the Genie, Mena Massoud as Aladdin, Naomi Scott as Jasmine, and Marwan Kenzari as Jafar. Rounding out the cast are Navid Negahban as the Sultan, Nasim Pedrad as Dalia, Billy Magnussen as the handsome and arrogant suitor Prince Anders, and Numan Acar as Hakim, Jafar’s right-hand man and captain of the palace guards.

The Lion King – July 19, 2019

Frozen 2 – November 22, 2019

Arendelle heats up in 2019 when Anna, Elsa, Kristoff and Olaf return to the big screen in Walt Disney Animation Studios’ “Frozen 2,” the much-anticipated follow-up to 2013’s Oscar®-winning “Frozen”—the highest grossing animated film of all time. Whew! 2019 is going to jammed pack with some awesome films. You know I'm already over here freaking out about Avengers Endgame, Star Wars Episode 9, and The Lion King lol.

    I cannot believe what an awesome lineup Disney has this year. They usually have amazing films for us every year, but this year is extra amazing. I’ll be at the theater a lot this year!

    I am sure we will be seeing several of these thought out the year. After all they are Disney movies and usually these types of movies are done very well.

    Wow – so many great movies coming out this year! I’ll have to make sure my daughter reads Artemis Fowl. It will be a treat to see these in the theater.

    Disneynature’s Penguins looks like it will be fascinating to watch on the big screen! The Lion King is likely to be a very popular one if it is anything close to the cartoon version. Looking forward to these!

    Wow! I knew about Captai. Marvel and Dumbo but the others are new to me and I am thrilled. Artemis Fowl has been a favorite book of mine for a long time!

    This is such a great list to look forward to . I am more excited though for the Lion King I have seen the trailer couple of times. it gives me chill each time I remember we watch the theater version way back in Mandalay Bay I am a big fan!
